RESUMO -Apesar do avanço das pesquisas em psicoterapia, estudos na abordagem psicanalítica ainda são escassos. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar e discutir a contribuição do conceito de representação mental como um constructo importante para fundamentar pesquisas na área psicanalítica baseadas na identificação dos elementos associados à mudança terapêutica. Inicialmente discutem-se conceitos e modelos teóricos psicanalíticos para posteriormente discutir a noção de representação mental em relação à mudança terapêutica, destacando-se a contribuição da teoria das relações objetais e do apego. Nesse sentido, apresenta-se o Inventário das Relações de Objeto, instrumento que avalia a qualidade das representações mentais, identificando mudanças ao longo da psicoterapia. Espera-se oferecer subsídios para o aprimoramento do trabalho clínico em psicoterapias e o desenvolvimento de pesquisas em psicanálise.Palavras-chave: Representação mental; mudança terapêutica; psicoterapia psicanalítica; relações objetais. Mental Representation and Therapeutic Change: A Contribution from the Psychoanalytical Approach of Object Relations TheoryABSTRACT -In spite of the progress realized in psychotherapeutic research, studies in the psychoanalytical approach are still scarce. The objective of this article is to present and to discuss the contribution of the concept of mental representation as an important construct to substantiate psychoanalytic research based on the identification of the elements associated with therapeutic change. First, concepts and psychoanalytic models are presented and after that the notion of mental representation is specifically discussed in relation to therapeutic change, particularly the object relation theory. Thus, the Object Relation Inventory is presented, an instrument designed to assess the quality of mental representations, evaluating changes along psychotherapy. Elements to improve clinical work and the development of research in psychoanalysis are presented.Keywords: mental representation; therapeutic change; psychoanalytic psychotherapy; object relations. Nas últimas décadas, observa-se que os objetivos das pesquisas em psicoterapia já não se limitam somente na comprovação da eficácia dos tratamentos nos diferentes quadros clínicos, mas dirigem-se para a compreensão dos processos envolvidos na mudança terapêutica. Neste sentido, Russel e Orlinsky (1996) assinalam que os estudos em psicoterapia não se restringem ao questionamento da efetividade destas intervenções e, sim, voltam-se para a compreensão de etapas mais específicas do tratamento, tais como a identificação dos processos terapêuticos nas diferentes modalidades de intervenção. L’auteur retrace les étapes d’élaboration de la psychothérapie focalisée sur le transfert : choix d’un modèle théorique, observation et analyse menée par des thérapeutes d’expérience, discussions en équipe des difficultés rencontrées relevant tant de la pathologie elle-même que de la thérapie appliquée, cueillette de données empiriques pour expliquer autant le trouble de la personnalité que ses racines neurologiques et physiologiques, etc. L’auteur passe aussi en revue les efforts pour en arriver à la rédaction d’un manuel sur la psychothérapie focalisée sur le transfert, un manuel répondant aux critères d’une méthode manualisée. Enfin, l’auteur résume les recherches faites pour mesurer l’efficacité psychothérapique de la méthode et les possibilités de généralisation.The author describes the stages of elaboration of Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) : choice of theoretical model, observation and analyses of several sessions of psychotherapy led by experienced therapists, team discussions on problems encountered that rise both from the pathology itself and from the therapeutic approach applied, a quest of empirical data to explain as much the personality disorder as its neurological and psychological roots, etc. The author reviews the efforts made to arrive at the description in writing of a manual on TFP, a manual that meets the criteria of a treatment method. Finally, the author summarizes studies conducted to measure the psychotherapeutic efficacy of the method and the possibilities of generalizability.El autor reconstituye las etapas de elaboración de la psicoterapia focalizada en la transferencia: elección de un modelo teórico, observación y análisis de numerosas sesiones de psicoterapia llevadas a cabo por terapeutas experimentados; discusiones en equipo sobre las dificultades encontradas que provienen tanto de la patología misma como de la terapia aplicada; búsqueda de datos empíricos para explicar tanto el trastorno de la personalidad, así como sus raíces neurológicas, psicológicas, etc. El autor también revisa los esfuerzos para llegar a la redacción de un manual sobre la psicoterapia focalizada en la transferencia, un manual que responde a los criterios de un método manualizado. Is insinuation one of the most influential phenomena in the early and continuous development of human behavior? Yes. Does previous scientific study give ample of time to understand unconsciousness and its manifestation from this point of view? No. As we have demonstrated in the following pages, insinuation does hold a high view in the divine scriptures as an opposite to inspiration. The scientific views on unconsciousness theory further ascertained its influence on human activities. A number of scientists however, denounced this clear evidence due to lack of laboratory prove of inspiration-cum-insinuation effects rather termed unconsciousness. In this essay, through dedicated analysis using both induction and deduction methods we showed that their theories failed to study unconsciousness from a holistic perspective. It only focused on those that have psychological and psychopathological problems in exclusion of reasonable human beings, thus, contained numerous errors that even contradicted their scientific findings. Following in-depth and dedicated analysis, we showed the influences of unseen phenomena that are beyond human control from Islamic philosophy viewpoints affirming earlier biblical claims of insinuation influences. We concluded by mentioning some of the physical evidences justified by the Islamic scripture "Qur'an" and some of the implications of these findings for certain aspects of the contemporary "inspiration and insinuation debates".
