Abstract: Threaded cylindrical samples of titanium, aluminum oxide, and titanium flame-sprayed with A1203 were implanted transversely in dog femurs. Half the samples were pushed into slightly oversize holes in the femurs, and half were screwed into slightly undersize holes.
