“…Details of dedicated applications are given in our companion ASU reviews. 1,2,5 Although EDXRF spectrometry is a well-established technique, new developments and soware improvements continue to be made. In an EDXRF system using pyroelectric sources developed 76 for use in space exploration, a redesigned electronic readout for an SDD gave an energy resolution as low as 121.17 eV.…”

“…These applications concern samples which are irreplaceable and of great cultural value such as works of art and archaeological artefacts. For a wider appreciation of the applications of XRF spectrometry, this review should be read in conjunction with other related ASU reviews in the series, namely: environmental analysis; 1 clinical and biological materials, foods and beverages; 2 advances in atomic spectrometry and related techniques; 3 elemental speciation; 4 and metals, chemicals and functional materials. 5…”

“…This is the 38 th annual review of the application of atomic spectrometry to the chemical analysis of environmental samples. This Update refers to papers published approximately between August 2021 and June 2022 and continues the series of Atomic Spectrometry Updates (ASUs) in Environmental Analysis 1 that should be read in conjunction with other related ASUs in the series, namely: clinical and biological materials, foods and beverages; 2 advances in atomic spectrometry and related techniques; 3 elemental speciation; 4 X-ray spectrometry; 5 and metals, chemicals and functional materials. 6 This review is not intended to be a comprehensive overview but selective with the aim of providing critical insights into developments in instrumentation, methodologies and data handling that represent significant advances in the use of atomic spectrometry in the environmental sciences.…”
