Association of gastric and Waldeyer's ring lymphoma: a molecular study

Abstract: The coexistence of Waldeyer's ring and gastrointestinal non-Hodgkin's lymphomas at presentation is well known. Moreover, localized gastrointestinal relapses following successful treatment of lymphomas of Waldeyer's ring and thyroid lymphomas occurring after a prolonged disease-free interval have also been described. “…Although no association between salivary gland MALT lymphoma and HP infection has yet been reported, Diss et al17 demonstrated that a patient with gastric MALT lymphoma and Sjögren's syndrome showed clonal identity between the gastric lymphoma cells and lymphocytes from salivary gland tissue without histological evidence of salivary gland lymphomas. Clonal analyses also revealed that multiple organ MALT lymphomas have been reported, that MALT lymphomas in the affected organs are often derived from a single clone,10–12 and that lymphoma cells also move among MALT lymphomas via a homing system 11. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC).
