With the fluctuating condition of the pandemic, people's perception of COVID-19 is also inconstant. If people perceive a low risk of any health emergency or any other crisis, they won't look for proper information to change their attitude, which might increase their risk. Through the use of two different theories and a mixed-method approach, this study attempted to understand the current perception about COVID-19 and the relationship between risk perception and information-seeking behavior. Survey and in-depth key informant interviews were used as tools for data collection. The results indicated that COVID-19 related risk perception changes following people's demographic and socio-economic characteristics. Also, the study found out a relationship of variation in information-seeking behavior on the basis of factors like demographic characteristics, past experience of any emergency, salience, and belief. Results specified that people seek information differently when they perceive a risk to be of higher order. The study summarized that the information sought about any risk could also amplify or reduce the level of perceived risk. In the end, the study concluded that if people do not perceive the risk of any emergency and don't seek proper information, raising awareness about a pandemic like COVID-19 and managing the emergency will be challenging.

“Coronaphobia” has spread across the world due to the overwhelming impact of coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19). The education sector has suffered from the pandemic, and university students find themselves in an unprecedented situation. Many university students in Bangladesh require psychological intervention due to adverse mental health conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. This cross-sectional study was conducted to evaluate the psychological conditions among public university students in Bangladesh during university campus closures necessitated by the pandemic. It also sought to ascertain factors associated with adverse psychological conditions during this period. Convenience and snowball sampling techniques were employed. In all, 1,382 university students participated in an online survey during the COVID-19 pandemic. Relationships between student demographic factors and DASS 21 subscales were determined using linear regression models. Students were classified as suffering from anxiety (26.85 percent), normal depression (25.47 percent), moderate depression (29.52 percent), or extremely severe depression (17.73 percent). Students who lived with their families reported less adverse mental health. Factors strongly associated with students’ psychological conditions include age, academic field, university year, perception of their own mental health condition during the COVID-19 pandemic, safety concerns about their living place relative to COVID-19, perceptions about social life, academic profile, academic performance, concerns about pandemic impact on their studies, and part-time jobs during the pandemic. Outcomes of this research may assist social organizations and health workers to identify psychologically vulnerable university students in order to support them more effectively. Our findings could also be integrated into comprehensive pandemic control efforts.

After being affected by the Covid-19, Bangladesh also faces challenges related to this pandemic like other countries globally. The impact was spreading to all sectors of the economy. The principal purpose of this study is to give an overview of the pandemic's impact on the economy as a whole and summarize recommendations for mitigating the pandemic's devastating effects. This study employs descriptive and exploratory techniques based on secondary data collected from journals, newspapers, published articles, websites, and the internet. The discussion result reveals that, more or less, all the sectors of the economy are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, not only public health. The study found that Manufacturing industries face losses, and workers are also affected by the various uncertainties about their earnings and job security. The country's education industry has been hit hard. In a new typical circumstance, students are unsure about studying and are concerned about the academic delay. The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the mental health of students as well as the general public. The study recommends that the government's intervention, in conjunction with the engagement of relevant sectoral stakeholders, has the potential to recoup losses and design a new strategy or solution to address the problem.
