Architecture as a social symbol, Unity of identity, integration and international openness : Comparison of the Sydney Opera House, the Riga National Library and the Elbe Philharmonic Hall

Abstract

Architecture is not only a discipline that is related to the field of construction but it contains all of the cultural, traditional, social and historical values of a civilization. Sydney Opera house was built to provide the best platform to the different and renowned architectures, artists and performers of the world. Philharmonic Hall has become one of the world`s ten best concert halls. This is the best place for playing jazz music and world music or even pop music. Riga National Library is spreading the traditional and cultural heritage free of cost to nurture education research and reading skills among the masses. Conservation of such buildings is very much important to save our heritage otherwise we will lose our identity.
