Applying Transcript Based Lesson Analysis in Enhancing Communication Pattern between Teacher and Students in Chemistry Classroom

Abstract: This new method is believed to justify the success of instructional design planned by the teacher. So far, the success of learning design has been reflected in student learning outcomes, even though the learning outcome data are not sufficient to provide an overview of the actual classroom conditions. This study aims to analyse the communication patterns in learning Chemistry using the TBLA method. This research is a descriptive qualitative study that analysed the lesson of Chemical Bonds and Carbon Atoms Char… Show more

“…Sehingga motivasi berperan penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Peran guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang berkualitas juga mempengaruhi motivasi belajar agar peserta didik menjadi lebih aktif (Winarti et al, 2021). Namun sebelumnya indikator motivasi belajar yang digunakan adalah menurut Uno (2008) dengan memberikan angket sebanyak 15 pertanyaan kepada peserta didik.…”

“…Transcript analysis is an important method for studying learning in the classroom, both online and offline (Van Booven, 2015). Communication in learning, both synchronous and asynchronous, can be transcribed, and data analyzed using the TBLA method (Winarti, 2021). The validity of the data in this study was carried out in several steps, such as re-checking, an extension of observations, and triangulation.…”

“…This can be done through scientific analysis by using transcripts. Learning analysis can be performed from the dialogue among students and students-teachers that occurs during the learning process as a principle for reflecting the learning process itself and as a scientific study of student involvement [6]. This learning analysis method through lesson study is called Transcript Based Lesson Analysis (TBLA) which has become known since 2017 and has been developed by the research team from the University of Nagoya, Japan.…”
