“…In the area of career development research, Super's (1957) theory of career development has been a meaningful theory (Fouad & Arbona, 1994;Salomone, 1996;Savickas, 1994;Whiston & Brecheisen, 2002). As Super (1942) explained in one of his early works, the concept of life stages provides a foundation for considering a number of vocational issues and problems (Giannantonio & Hurley-Hanson, 2006;Salomone, 1996). Super's career development theory includes the insightful description of the stages individuals pass through in career development and provides a theoretical basis for numerous researchers and counselors (Giannantonio & Hurley-Hanson, 2006).…”

Super's career development theory includes the insightful description of the stages individuals pass through in career development and provides a theoretical basis for numerous researchers and counselors (Giannantonio & Hurley-Hanson, 2006). Super's perspective influenced contemporary researchers studying career development issues; specifically, his theory provided the foundation for the concept of career maturity, which is significant in understanding and explaining the career issues of adolescents.…”
