Application of nanoparticles and composite materials for energy generation and storage

Abstract: Transition to renewable and sustainable energy from fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, and oil) has dominated the research cycle. The shift is as a result of increasing population growth, industrialisation, decreasing oil reserves and hazardous environmental impact of energy generation from fossil fuels. The new methods of energy generation demand functional materials that are smart and strong for generation and storage of energy. Polymeric composite materials have been widely used. With the recent material perf… Show more

“…Figure 5 shows the dielectric performance curves of the TiO 2 @SiO 2 /PDMS composites with different loading fractions at room temperature. As depicted in Figure 5 a and Figure S4a , the dielectric constants of both TiO 2 /PDMS and TiO 2 @SiO 2 /PDMS composites are basically independent to the AC-frequency when the filler loading is below 4 vol.%, which is ascribed to the dielectric polarization being strongly influenced by the filler incorporating fraction [ 48 ]. However, when the filler loading is beyond 4 vol.%, the ε r value of TiO 2 @SiO 2 /PDMS composites exhibits a significant negative frequency-dependence.…”

“…Theoretical calculations using molecular dynamics, termed molecular modeling, became nowadays an effective tool for studying nanomaterials (Jena et al 2020;Hu et al, 2016;Bayoumy et al 2018;Fahmy et al 2020;Ibrahim et al 2019b). Studying chemical, physical and electronic properties of several systems was carried out using different levels and theories of molecular modeling (Abdel-Bary et al 2020;Badry et al 2019;Bayoumy et al 2019b;Ibrahim and Mahmoud 2009;Bayoumy et al 2019a).…”
