Abstract: Purification of liquid fuel from nitrogenated compounds is of interest in order to protect the automotive engines and the environment from its harmful effects represented in corrosion, formation of gums in engines, and evolution of NOx gases. In the current report, composites from metal organic framework (MOF) and natural fabric (cotton and wool) was designed and applied in removal of nitrogenated compounds from liquid fuel. MOF based on Al, namely, MIL-53-NH 2 , was immediately formed inside fabric to produce… Show more

“…During the formation of MNPs, cellulose was supposed to act as a chelator in cooperation with 2-aminoterephthalic acid and the formed complex with metal ions through its hydroxyl groups. After the formation of MNPs, cellulose was argued to interact chemically with MNPs via the formation of hydrogen bonding and coordination linkage between the amine groups and metal central ion of MNPs with the functional groups of cellulose [ 36 , 37 , 38 ]. After hot-press drying, the MNPs were further firmly fixed inside the MNP@CBP.…”

“…The amino group as the H‐bond donor increases the anchoring sites for the guest analyte, and this electron‐withdrawing group can cause an improvement in the charge‐transfer interaction between functionalized groups and MHAs as a guest metabolite (Pera‐Titus & Farrusseng, ). The carboxyl functional group of 1,4‐BDC contains a carbonyl group (C═O) and a hydroxyl group (O‐H), which is connected to the same carbon atom in the guest analyte (MHAs: C 10 H 11 NO 3 ) (Abdelhameed et al, ).…”

“…Consequently, in the MEPS procedure, the washing step removes the salt and unwanted weakly retained interferences from the packed solid sorbent. Previous studies indicated that using water–methanol solution has a good performance to remove interferences and matrix effects in the MEPS technique (Mohamed Abdel‐Rehim, Altun, & Blomberg, ; Abdelhameed et al, ).…”

“…The complexes are used in gas storage and separation, [ 40–42 ] electrical conduction, [ 43 ] luminescence materials, [ 44–46 ] molecular magnets, [ 47–49 ] heterogeneous catalystsand, [ 50–53 ] and purification of fuel. [ 54–56 ] Many MOC‐based luminescent materials can efficiently, quickly, and conveniently detect heavy metal ions and organic pollutants in aqueous solutions, [ 57–63 ] but the luminescent complexes that detect nitro compounds and nitroimidazole antibiotics simultaneously have rarely been reported.…”
