“…However, a higher percentage of mothers (73%) reported adhering to this practice in El Salvador [18]. The average duration of consuming fruit juice and date syrup-milk mixture in a baby bottle is also troubling (11.5 and 5.90 months on average, respectively), since offering sugary drinks in a baby bottle has been previously associated with overconsumption, excessive sugar intake, diarrhea and tooth decay [8,[10][11][12][13].…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…Because the original, closed-collection systems for H 2 breath testing (5) gave way to open, intervalsampling procedures, various cutoff criteria have been proposed to define abnormal tests. In adults ingesting aqueous solutions of lactose (51)(52)(53)(54)(55)(56)(57)(58) or sucrose (59), a ?o20-ppm rise was found to separate complete and incomplete absorption (or intestinal disaccharidases status) as determined by alternative methods of assay. With milk as the source of lactose, and a dose of milk 5 ml/kg body weight, Caskey and co-workers (60) found that a 17-ppm rise in H 2 concentration separated lactose-tolerant and intolerant adult Native American subjects.…”

“…There are four main areas of concern regarding the effect of FODMAP on gut and general health. First, some FODMAP (such as fructose in excess of glucose) were first described to induce diarrhoea when consumed in high amounts ( 11 ) , leading to the concept that FODMAP were ‘natural laxatives’ and their restriction may lead to constipation. Indeed, many studies targeted patients with non-constipation IBS, ( 12 , 13 ) and some reported poorer responses in patients with constipation predominance ( 14 , 15 ) .…”
