Anti-inflammatory activity of curcumin-loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids on acute gouty arthritis

Abstract: Gouty arthritis is a very familiar inflammatory arthritis. Controlling inflammation is the key to preventing gouty arthritis. However, colchicine, the most highly represented drug used in clinical practice, has strict contraindications owing to some severe side effects. Curcumin (Cur), a natural anti-inflammatory drug, has demonstrated good safety and efficacy. However, the rapid degradation, poor aqueous solubility, and low bioavailability of Cur limit its therapeutic effect. To strengthen the effectiveness a… Show more

“…Inflammation plays an important role in pulp regeneration, 55 as tissue repair can only occur at a lower inflammation resolution level. 56 An inflammatory biomolecules influx would impede regeneration due to cellular apoptosis and tissue necrosis 57 , 58 ; however, low‐intensity inflammation would stimulate positive pulp reparative responses. 59 , 60 Typical pro‐inflammatory cytokines that govern the pulp inflammation process include interleukins like IL‐1α/β and IL‐6, collagenases like MMPs, colony‐stimulating factors like M‐CSF and G‐CSF, and chemokines like CXCLs and CCLs.…”

“…In recent years, tetrahedral framework nucleic acids (tFNAs) have attracted increasing attention due to their editability and biocompatibility (Zhang et al, 2020). Drug delivery based tFNAs has been proposed and investigated broadly over the past years (Li et al, 2021;Zhang et al, 2022). Zhang et al synthesized tFNA/His-5, and by the modification of tFNAs, His-5 showed increased transport efficiency and improved anti-fungal effect (Zhang B et al, 2021).…”

“…Recent data has shown that the tFNA could regulate cellular behavior, with different effects on various cell types (Zhang et al, 2021;Zhang et al, 2022). Shi's study reported increased autophagy in chondrocytes following exposure to tFNA (250 × 10 -9 M) (Shi et al 2017).…”
