“…Within the IL1B promoter region in question, we found the only unannotated SNP (rs549858786), which can reduce the expression of this gene (Table 5). As for our keyword search in PubMed [38], it resulted in a pharmaceutical original research article [135] on IL1B deficiency as a physiological marker of successful treatment of atherosclerosis using oligomeric proanthocyanidins from Rhodiola rosea, as detailed in Table 5. This time, we surprisingly found an article [136] on proinflammatory effects of cigarette smoke condensates as an atherogenic risk factor, suggesting that passive smoking can be as dangerous as active one.…”

“…Our lab has, for the first time, successfully purified six compounds (catechin, epicatechin, procyanidin B7, procyanidin B6, procyanidin B3 and procyanidin B1) from proanthocyanidins, with high speed counter-current chromatography. So far, proanthocyanidins have been shown to possess multiple biological functions, such as anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation, anti-tumor, anti-bacteria, sleep improvement, anti-hyperglycemia and lowering blood lipids [23][24][25]. However, there are few reports about the effects of proanthocyanidins in lipid metabolism dysregulation in T2DM, and the mechanism is far from being illustrated.…”

“…In addition, RRE has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, and inhibitory effect on IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6 production [19,20,42]. Data showing that psychological disorders negatively affect duration of conception are available in the literature [43]. In our study, duration of conception was prolonged in the stress group where oxidative and proinflammatory cytokine levels elevated compared to the healthy and RRE treated groups.…”
