Abstract: In the presence of an electric field, the anomalous superconducting string acquires both charge and current. We show that the linearized equations for W bosons are unstable in the presence of a strong electromagnetic field from an anomalous superconducting string. The charge and current on the string are screened by polarization of the W condensate outside the core of the string.
