“…8 Angiograms of the left coronary artery in LAO hemiaxial position of a 35.year-old man (above) and a 28-year-old woman (below) 3 months and 4 months, respectively, after anteroseptal myocardial infarction, In both patients, two streaks of contrast medium in the proximal left anterior descending artery are seen, indicating recanalization of a thrombus One-vessel disease is predominant in myocardial infarction at a young age contrary to the myocardial infarction of middle and advanced ages (48,59). Findings of other authors (9,14,25,64,70) confirm this statement. Only onethird of consecutive patients under age 60 showed one-vessel disease (5).…”

“…The present findings of predominantly single-vessel disease in young patients in this study also suggests the same. 10 Moreover, the predominance of angiographic single vessel disease in these young patients as in this study primarily suggest that premature myocardial infarction probably result from a rapid progressive event, such as thrombosis or plaque rupture, rather than a gradually evolving process such as atherosclerosis and thus substantiate the need for an intense and aggressive approach directed towards primary and secondary preventions of premature cardiovascular disease. 11 The management of MI generally is not dependent on age and guideline-suggested therapies are just as applicable to younger patients as they are to their older counterparts.…”

“…[16][17][18] Many studies have shown LAD to be the vessel most commonly involved followed by RCA and LCX in young patients. 10,17 In comparision with old age ACS patients, our study indicates that the distribution of coronary lesions is not age dependant.…”
