Analysis of the Technico-Economic Viability of an Electric Micro-Grid with Renewable Electricity Production Sources in Elokato-Bingerville, Cote d’Ivoire

Abstract: In this study, the technico-economic viability is studied, on the basis of different scenarios of electric micro-grids with renewable energy production sources, autonomous and supplied by the interconnected grid. HOMER Pro 3.13.3 Pro simulation and optimization software, Xlstat and Energy sentinel software are used for the evaluation of different technical and economic scenarios of system components, in order to obtain the most cost-effective configuration. To do this, the case study of the village of ELOKATO … Show more

“…The renewable microgrid LCOE of $ 0.261 obtained in this study is lower than both of these averages, and proves that the microgrid is economically competitive in the region in which it is located (West Africa). These studies [ 12 , 42 , 56 , [73] , [74] , [75] , [76] , [77] , [78] , [79] , [80] ] for validation were chosen for both their use of HOMER and the direct availability of the obtained LCOEs.…”

“…However, this alternative depends upon the optimal combination and sizing design of the renewable energy generation system coupled with the storage system. Recently, different sizing and optimization methodologies have been developed by the research community in order to appreciate the feasibility and the economic effect of such solutions [13][14][15][16][17][18][19]. Some studies [20][21][22][23][24] have developed several methods to extract the optimal sizing of renewable systems associated with different storage devices.…”
