Analysis of the gas turbine rotary regenerator

Abstract: Recent solution of the`Hausen' regenerator and conjugate heat transfer problems invites a fresh look at the Ritz rotary regenerator. The approach deals readily with the reflux phase (`hold-up', flushing or residence time') and with the effects of friction (re-heating and pressure drop). There is no necessity to assume constant Stanton number, N st , and friction factor, C f .
