Analysis of power losses in Z-source PV grid-connected inverter

Abstract: Calculating power losses of the inverter plays an important role for improving system efficiency and power density, designing heat dissipation system and selecting the power devices. Generally, power losses include the main switch losses (conducting losses and switching losses), the drive losses, control circuit losses and losses of inductor. Among them, the losses of semiconductor power switching devices are the largest losses. This paper analyzed the power losses of blocking diode, switching devices of Hbrid… Show more

“…freewheeling diode and DC diode 7 D , respectively. According to references [18] and [19], we can get the conducting loss of IGBTs and freewheeling diodes as shown in Formula (19) and Formula (20), respectively:   Figure 4 describes the input energy to the output energy of LVC-qZSI. Meanwhile, the energy loss is classified in detail.…”

“…simple boost, maximum boost, maximum constant boost) [5][6][7] can be utilized for qZSI control in the same manner. Generally speaking, the voltage gain of the qZSI is …... 4 Whereas the voltage stress across the inverter bridge is BV in . In order to maximize the voltage gain and minimize the voltage stress on the inverter bridge, one needs to decrease the boost factor B and increase the modulation index M as much as possible.…”
