Abstract: The evaluation of therapy concepts for children suffering from cleft palate is an enormous challenge in modern oral and maxillofacial surgery and related disciplines. In the present retrospective survey 1300 patients having clefts, including the soft palate, were studied with special regard to speech improvement operations.
