Analysis of Critical Thinking Skills by Homeschooling’s Students in Solving Mathematical Problem

Abstract: This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills ofhomeschooling students in solving mathematical problems. The type ofthis research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. Subjects inthis study were six students homeschooling is equivalent to junior highschool students class IX. Data were obtained through tests and interviews.Test are identified and described in accordance with the achievement ofstudents towards critical thinking indicators used in this research thatclarification, assessmen… Show more

“…Similar to H6, M9 tries to interpret the question to find out what information can be known and asked in the question carefully. The results of previous research stated that a person who has a high ability to think critically would be more thorough and careful to solve problems [20]. When someone thinks critically about solving a problem in mathematics, they will make a reasoned decision or judgment about what to do and think about.…”

“…High order thinking skills assessment form consists of critical thinking, creative thinking, problem-solving, logical thinking and analytical thinking was assessed during learning management by using rubric score assessment. The indicator that we use on this study as follows: a) Critical thinking : Questioning, argument analysis, answer and challenge, conclude the argument and solution, interpretation fact, evaluate, distinguish the relevance of the argument (Alfaro-LeFevre, 2016; Dwi Saputra, Joyoatmojo, & Kusuma Wardani, 2018;Sholihah, Inganah, & Effendi, 2017). b) Creative Thinking : Novelty, Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, Elaboration, Abstractness Arisanti, Sopandi, & Widodo, 2017;Marwiyah, Kamid, & Risnita, 2015).…”
