ANALISIS HASIL PEMERIKSAAN KADAR LOW-DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN (LDL-Chol) METODE DIREK DAN INDIREK

Abstract: Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) atau kolesterol jahat apabila banyak terdapat dalam darah menyebabkan akumulasi endapan lemak (plak) dalam arteri (proses aterosklerosis), sehingga aliran darah menyempit. Show more

“…Indirect method of measuring LDL cholesterol levels is carried out through several stages of examination, namely by examining Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, and Triglycerides first, then continuing with calculating using the Friedewald formula (LDL = Total Cholesterol -HDL Cholesterol -1/5 Triglycerides) to obtain the results of the LDL Cholesterol examination, whereas in the direct method of LDL Cholesterol examination the measurement is carried out directly using a photometer without involving other examinations which can influence LDL Cholesterol levels such as the indirect method (Djasang, 2017). The calculations used in the Friedewald formula cannot be applied to patients who are not fasting, because the presence of post-meal chylomicrons contains a lot of triglycerides, therefore patients must fast 10-12 hours before sampling to avoid high triglycerides (Ramalina Yani, 2016).…”

“…The purpose of HDL is to move and dispose of cholesterol from blood vessels to the liver or other tissues so that it can be eliminated as bile acids (Maulina, 2017). The results of a lipid profile examination can confirm whether the patient has the potential or is at risk of developing diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, pancreatitis, and diabetes which occur due to increased cholesterol levels in the body (Djasang, 2017). LDL cholesterol often known as bad cholesterol is a lipoprotein particle that participates in the transport of fat fractions, mainly transporting cholesterol from the liver to peripheral cells, and is an atherogenic lipoprotein due to being one of the causes of the formation of atherosclerotic plaques.…”

“…The resulting serum was immediately separated into an Eppendorf tube. The blood serums from the 6 groups, namely normal control, negative control, positive control, PST, PSS, and PSR which had been separated were put into the auto analyzer to measure total cholesterol, HDL, and triglyceride levels [26].…”

“…Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) apabila terlalu banyak dalam darah dapat menyebabkan akumulasi endapan lemak (plak) dalam arteri (proses aterosklerosis), sehingga aliran darah menyempit. Plak ini kadang-kadang bisa pecah dan menimbulkan masalah besar untuk jantung dan pembuluh darah (Djasang, 2019).…”
