Show more

“…Children younger than 9 years old have difficulty interpreting perceived exertion scales [48, 50], which may be due to their phase of cognitive development. These findings were confirmed in the present study, since only maximum HR was correlated with the modified Borg scale in the 20 m-SRT.…”

“…The blocking technique consists of changing the flow [ 15 ] and acting on the airway driving, without reaching the lung parenchyma, requiring change in volume to achieve the collapsed alveoli. This effect can be achieved by performing the ITRA due to the association of positive pressure, which produces an increased alveolar pressure, increased functional residual capacity, and consequently recruitment of alveolar units in this region [ 16 , 17 ], a goal achieved in this study when the atelectasis has reversed without showing desaturation or transient bradycardia.…”

“…One of the tools used was the manovacuometer, which is simple, practical and precise in the assessment of respiratory muscle strength 15 , and easy to handle, with possibility of adjustment 5 and with use in several studies [16][17][18][19] .…”
