Abstract: Objectives: To compare the interobserver agreement between visual and photogrammetry postural assessment and to determine whether the quantitative photogrammetry results correspond to the symmetries and asymmetries detected through qualitative visual postural assessment. Methods: Twenty-one volunteers (mean age 24±1.9 years) were visually evaluated by three experienced physical therapists, who completed a postural assessment form. The participants' face and whole body were then photographed in the anterior and… Show more

“…As was the case for the present investigation, other studies that assessed head posture by photogrammetry also obtained good intra-and interexaminer levels of reliability 11,[19][20][21] . When GC was compared to GD-II and GD-III, no differences were observed between them regarding the head-neck angle determined by photogrammetry.…”

“…Many ways of quantifying head posture by photogrammetry exist in the literature [19][20][21][22] . However, the only study examining photogrammetry in individuals with malocclusion was that by Gadotti et al 11 who observed anteriorization of the head in class II individuals compared to class I individuals.…”

“…This method is used in postural evaluations due to the advantages and effectiveness of its clinical application, low cost in the image system and photointerpretation, high precision and reproducibility of the results (13) . Iunes et al (14) demonstrated greater reliability between the evaluations by different subjects in the postural photogrammetry in relation to the visual evaluation.…”
