Abstract: CONVENTIONAL MONOLITHIC operational amplifiers have until recently been limited in gain-bandwidth product to approximately 20MHz. This limitation has been caused by the use of overall feedback around multiple high gain, low dynamic range, nonlinear stages. While the feedback lowers distortion and optimizes terminal impedances, it also forces a tradeoff between available bandwidth and gain due to stability considerations.
