Cerebral Palsy (CP) is one of the most complicated disabilities which is a permanent motor disorder causing mental and physical disabilities. Different reports published by different health organizations asked for researches on CP disability in order to improve diagnosis. Globally, there are different researches conducted to improve CP diagnosis, but most of those studies do not diagnose CP in children's early ages, which limit the treatment impact. This paper report on a research conducted to develop an ontology-based approach to diagnose children with CP in early ages. In this paper, Ontology was used to represent CP domain. Then, a set of manually built rules have been optimized through a knowledge-based survey to be used in CP diagnosis. The proposed approach improves CP diagnosis and by consequence positively reflects physical therapy treatment. The proposed approach was evaluated by a real dataset consisted of 70 pre-diagnosed cases, where 84% correctly diagnosed.

A review about Technology in mental health sensing and assessment

Information and communication technologies (ICT) such as smart devices, the Internet of Things and wireless sensor networks are gradually being introduced into the health system for early diagnosis and management of certain diseases. The state of the art of the use of these technologies in mental health identified 37 articles published in indexed high impact journals in the period 2003-2021. The snowball sampling method was used to select these papers. From this literature review, it appears that several of these technologies are used to support the early detection of mental disorders. Various systems based on wearable sensor networks, the Internet of Things and pervasive and ubiquitous computing have been designed and implemented in this sense. However, most of the applications are designed for academic purposes. 29% of the papers deal with the use of mobile technology in the detection of mental illness, while 67% have studied other technologies such as wearable sensor networks. 4% of the papers concern the use of web platforms in the detection and assessment of mental health disorders.

In this paper we present a study of vision-based, human-recognition solutions in human-oriented, mobile-robot applications. Human recognition is composed of detection, tracking and identification. Here, we provide an analysis of each step. The applied vision systems can be conventional 2D, stereo or omnidirectional. The camera sensor can be designed to detect light in the visible or infrared parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. Regardless of the method or the type of sensor chosen, the best results in human recognition can be obtained by using a multimodal solution. In this case, the vision system is enhanced with other forms of sensory information. The most common sensors are laser range finders, microphones and sonars. As medicine is expected to be one of the main fields of application for mobile robots, we give it special emphasis. An overview of current applications and proposal of potential future applications are given. Without doubt, properly controlled mobile robots will play an ever-increasing role in the future of medicine.
