An Extended Picture Fuzzy VIKOR Approach for Sustainable Supplier Management and Its Application in the Beef Industry

Abstract: Nowadays, sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) has received considerable attention because of strict government requirements and increased pressure from the public. In the SSCM, selecting suitable suppliers plays a significant role in improving the overall sustainability performance of a company. Therefore, this article aims to develop a modified VIKOR (in Serbian: VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje) technique for sustainable supplier evaluation and selection, that uses ordered weighted… Show more

“…To illustrate the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed green supplier selection model, a comparison analysis with the fuzzy GRA [46], the intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS [43], the picture fuzzy VIKOR [42], and the linguistic Z-number AQM [13] methods is performed in this part. The sorting results of the five green suppliers obtained by the selected methods are shown in Figure 3.…”

“…Phochanikorn and Tan [21] developed an integrated MCDM method through the combination of fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL), fuzzy analytic network process (ANP) and prospect theory to select green suppliers in the palm oil products industry. In addition, many single models have been proposed for sustainable supplier selection, which include the rough cloud TOPSIS [14], the interval 2-tuple TODIM [41], the picture fuzzy VIKOR [42] and the intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS [43] methods.…”

“…Definition (Meksavang et al, ; Wei, ). Let p 1 = ⟨ μ 1 , η 1 , ν 1 ⟩ and p 2 = ⟨ μ 2 , η 2 , ν 2 ⟩ be two PiFNs, the comparison laws of p 1 and p 2 are given as below: If S ( p 1 ) > S ( p 2 ), then p 1 is greater than p 2 , expressed as p 1 ≻ p 2 ; If S ( p 1 ) = S ( p 2 ) and H ( p 1 ) = H ( p 2 ), then p 1 equals p 2 , expressed as p 1 ∼ p 2 ; If S ( p 1 ) = S ( p 2 ) and H ( p 1 ) > H ( p 2 ), then p 1 is greater than p 2 , expressed as p 1 ≻ p 2 . …”

“…Yang, Hu, Liu, and Chen () introduced a group picture hesitant fuzzy approach for alternative selection of end‐of‐life vehicle management in China. Meksavang, Shi, Lin, and Liu () presented a picture fuzzy VIKOR framework for sustainable supplier selection in the beef industry, and Zhang, Wang, Yu, Wang, and Wang () suggested a picture fuzzy consensus decision model for the location selection of offshore wind power station.…”

“…Dursun et al (2018) considered the competition factor in the process of new product development using QFD [35]. A combination of best-worst method (BWM) and QFD was proposed in order to determine the relation between customer requirements and engineering characteristics in Mei et al (2018) [36].…”
