Abstract:An efficient and straightforward strategy was revealed to synthesize a wide range of quinazolinone derivatives from commercially inexpensive 2-aminobenzamide and various amino acids via molecular iodine-promoted oxidative decarboxylation of α-amino acid followed by oxidative cyclization reaction.
