These days continual demands on loosely coupled systems have web service gives basic necessities to deliver resolution that are adaptable and sufficient to be work at runtime for maintaining the high quality of the system. One of the basic techniques to evaluate the quality of such systems is through testing. Due to the rapid popularization of web service, which is progressing and continuously increasing, testing of web service has become a basic necessity to maintain high quality of web service. The testing of the performance of Web service based applications is attracting extensive attention. In order to evaluate the performance of web services, it is essential to evaluate the QoS (Quality of Service) attributes such as interoperability, reusability, auditability, maintainability, accuracy and performance to improve the quality of service. The purpose of this study is to introduce the systematic literature review of web services testing techniques to evaluate the QoS attributes to make the testing technique better. With the intention of better testing quality in web services, this systematic literature review intends to evaluate what QoS parameters are necessary to provide better quality assurance. The focus of systematic literature is also to make sure that quality of testing can be encouraged for the present and future. Consequently, the main attention and motivation of the study is to provide an overview of recent research efforts of web service testing techniques from the research community. Each testing technique in web services has identified apparent standards, benefits, and restrictions. This systemic literature review provides a different testing resolution to industry to decide which testing technique is the most efficient and effective with the testing assignment agenda with available resources. As for the significance, it can be said that web service testing technique are still broadly open for improvements.

A Comprehensive Review on Regression Test Case Prioritization Techniques for Web Services

Test Case Prioritization (TCP) involves the rearrangement of test cases on a prioritized basis for various services. This research work focuses on TCP in web services, as it has been a growing challenge for researchers. Web services continuously evolve and hence require reforming and re-execution of test cases to ensure the accurate working of web services. This study aims to investigate gaps, issues, and existing solutions related to test case prioritization. This study examines research publications within popular selected databases. We perform a meticulous screening of research publications and selected 65 papers through which to answer the proposed research questions. The results show that criteria-based test case prioritization techniques are reported mainly in 41 primary studies. Test case prioritization models, frameworks, and related algorithms are also reported in primary studies. In addition, there are eight issues related to TCP techniques. Among these eight issues, optimization and high effectiveness are most discussed within primary studies. This systematic review has identified that a significant proportion of primary studies are not involved in the use of statistical methods in measuring or comparing the effectiveness of TCP techniques. However, a large number of primary studies use 'Average Percentage of Faults Detected' (APFD) or extended APFD metrics to compute the performance of techniques for web services.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> In the frame of smart city initiatives, map-based web applications (WebGIS) are distinguished by the complexity of client-side implementation and high load on web servers. Web-map applications provide non-typical web content usually visualized by JavaScript code. For such applications, higher-level advanced approaches to quality of service (QoS) assessment are required. In this paper, a method based on the estimation of users’ interest in a web page and the information quantity provided by a web page is introduced. In order to implement it, a proof of work (PoW) concept is applied for verification of real users. Moreover, a novel metric is introduced to calculate the information quantity provided by web pages. PoW is used for verification of real users and distinguishing them from bots. Additionally, it can be utilized for balancing of web server load. For monitoring of web pages, an image-based approach is introduced. Web pages are rendered into raster images. A number of metrics describing an image are calculated. This approach allows users to compare and track various web pages, including rich web applications providing complex WebGL content. Several web services utilize the developed solutions. Analysis of harvested data proves the effectiveness of the proposed solution.</p>
