“…Australophis would be closer in morphology to early Cenozoic Hoffstetterella from Brazil and extant South American Anilius than to any other snake. This would suggest an early divergent lineage (Gómez et al, ). This snake is small, less than one meter in length, likely with fossorial habits similar to the remaining “anilioids.” Its prey was likely restricted to those smaller than its head diameter.…”
