Ameliorative Effect of Dangguibuxue Decoction against Cyclophosphamide-Induced Heart Injury in Mice

Abstract: Dangguibuxue decoction (DBD), a kind of Chinese herbal medicine, has been widely used to treat blood deficiency disease in China. In this experiment, we studied the effects of the Dangguibuxue decoction (DBD) on the myocardial injury induced by cyclophosphamide in mice. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatine kinase (CK), and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum were detected by commercial kits. Total white blood cell (WBCs), platelets, and cytokines pathological changes of he… Show more

“…Ectopically stored lipids and their metabolites (diacylglycerols, ceramides, and fatty acyl-CoAs) in the liver, heart, muscles, and kidney lead to lipotoxicity, which may result in tissue injury [17,18]. We found increased levels of kidney and liver injury markers, such as alanine-aminotransferase, which also demonstrates myocardial damage [19]. In addition, our results confirmed endothelial dysfunction and increased sympathetic and adrenergic contractility as pathologic features of the cardiovascular system of HTG rats.…”

“…DGBX, which is widely prescribed, plays an important role in the treatment of anemia, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases [ 29 31 ]. DGBX reportedly contains astragaloside IV, ferulic acid, and other ingredients, which can regulate immunity and repair epithelial cells [ 32 34 ]. In this experiment, DGBX was used to interfere with an IBD mouse model.…”

“…DBT has been reported to promote erythropoietin, platelets, and angiogenesis [ 23 ]. The effects of stimulating the immune response [ 24 ] and alleviating myocardial damage [ 25 ] have also been reported [ 24 ]. DBT is composed of Angelica and Astragalus , and both herbs showed possible improvement in ovarian function.…”
