Abstract: A LZHEIMER DISEASE (AD), THE most common cause of dementia in the elderly, is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually robs the patient of cognitive function and eventually causes death. We review theepidemiology,clinicalfeatures,pathophysiology, and treatment of AD. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
