Abstract: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) improve the ability of the immune system to target cancer cells by blocking signaling through either the cytotoxic T-lymphocyteassociated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), programmed cell death (PD-1) receptor, or its ligand (PD-L1).
