2019 **Abstract:** At increasing levels of confidence, Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM) is challenged by tension in the Hubble parameter H0 with respect to the local distance ladder. We introduce a new approach to alleviating H0 tension by accelerated expansion leading up to an unstable de Sitter state (UdS) in the distant future. It shares the same parameters H0 and ΩM, 0 of late-time ΛCDM, wherein dS is assumed to be stable. For the matter density ΩM, 0, we test this by estimates over running inner intervals [0, zmax ] in the Pantheo…

“…Taking into account the errors from the Planck determination of H 0 , the maximum deviation occurs at redshift z ≈ 0.16 and the statistical significance is 2.5σ. Interestingly, this is more or less the redshift where we see a deviation from flat ΛCDM in the Pantheon supernovae dataset [50][51][52], but here Wang et al have employed the JLA dataset instead [53]. The wiggles in Fig.…”

“…In this context one may be interested in the stability of the de Sitter state in the DE models following a holographic approach [353]. As argued in reference [353], unlike in the ΛCDM model where the de Sitter state is assumed to be stable in the distance future, the DE model following a holographic approach could alleviate the Hubble constant tension leading to an unstable de Sitter state in the distance future. This instability is actually responsible for a turning point [354] which seems crucial in capturing the H 0 tension quantitatively and providing a common ground with the Swampland conjectures.…”
