Aggregate interlock in fractured concrete mesoscale models: a novel finite element modelling approach

Abstract: Aggregate interlock is a stress transfer mechanism in cracked concrete. After concrete cracks under tensile loading, crack interfaces can experience significant slip deformation due to the applied crack kinematics.
