“…In 2015 and 2016, Szewczyk et al used the IML-E400 Resistograph, a type of needle measuring equipment, to test the annual rings of 15 pine trees, including larch and conifer. They found that the age of pine trees measured using the IML-E400 Resistograph was an average of 6.5 years younger than the age of trees measured by the growth cone method [17]. These experiments show that the accuracy of the current equipment based on the needle measuring method has not achieved the expected effect.…”
