Gao et al 1 describe a secondary analysis of data from the EMBED (Emergency Department-Initiated Buprenorphine For Opioid Use Disorder) trial, a multisite cluster-randomized clinical trial that implemented electronic clinical decision support (CDS) in 18 emergency departments (EDs) to increase ED-initiated buprenorphine treatment for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). 1 In this research, Gao et al 1 performed a network analysis using the concept of social contagion, which they define as "the spread of behaviors or attitudes within a group of individuals." Nodes were defined as the care team consisting of attending physicians along with advance practice practitioners and resident physicians, which created 10 240 pairwise interactions. Gao et al 1 determined what that the next time the learner will be the one who performs the procedure and then will be prepared to pass along this knowledge to another learner. This concept is empowering, as the initially unfamiliar learner has a strong motivation to pay close attention to how the procedure is done and then, in the ultimate manner of solidifying knowledge, teach someone else the skill.
