Adaptive consensus control for a class of nonlinear multi-agent systems with unknown time delays and external disturbances

Abstract: This paper investigates a class of unknown nonlinear multi-agent systems with unknown time delays and external disturbances. The external disturbance considered in this paper is completely unknown, and the accurate mathematical expression cannot be obtained. To eliminate the external disturbance, a disturbance observer is constructed by the Disturbance-Observer-Based-Control (DOBC) method. By utilizing Young’s inequality scaling technique, the problem of time delay is solved. By assuming that the communication… Show more

“…Due to the superiorities of stronger robustness, higher flexibility and better performances in fault tolerance when compared with single-agent systems, MASs have drawn extensive attentions from researchers in different scientific fields. MASs have wide applications (Chen et al, 2018; Liu et al, 2022; Mo et al, 2021; Wang et al, 2020b) in practice, such as network sensor communications, multi-UAVs cooperation and so on.…”

“…Actually, most real-world industrial processes present nonlinear behavior. For decades, the study of nonlinear systems has attracted much research interest, including system identification, [1][2][3] system control, 4,5 state estimation, [6][7][8][9] and so on. In the identification area, 10 the works that are elaborated on the class of nonlinear systems concern some specific structure of models, such as black-box models, fuzzy and neural network models, and block-structured models [11][12][13][14] .…”

“…Over the past few decades, the coordination control of multi-agent systems (MAS) has achieved considerable progress as network technology develops rapidly (Liu et al, 2022; Qin et al, 2017). Formation control of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (multi-UAV) is one of the essential representatives of MAS due to its wide applications in military and civilian fields (Apostolidis et al, 2022; Hegde and Ghose, 2022; Zhen et al, 2020).…”
