Nursing diagnoses associated with the national policy for health promotion

Objective. To identify the relationships between nursing diagnoses proposed by NANDA-I taxonomy II and the priority themes (PT) of the National Policy for Health Promotion (PNPS in Portuguse). Methods. An integrative literature review was carried out in the Scopus, Cinahl and SciELO databases, using the descriptors: health promotion, food habits, traffic accidents, drugs abuse, environment and public health. The search considered scientific articles published between 2000 and 2016. Results. Twelve articles were selected to identify and explore nursing actions related to PT. It was identified that although the said taxonomy offers a Domain called Health promotion, there is a need to relate the diagnoses of other domains to include the health actions described in the aforementioned Policy. It was observed that there is an attention and concern of the nursing professionals to address topics such as the training of managers and the promotion of healthy eating. In relation to the priority themes promotion of safe mobility and sustainable development, no nursing diagnoses were identified due to the scarcity of diagnoses related to them in the mentioned taxonomy. Conclusion. Although the NANDA-I taxonomy presents a specific domain on health promotion, these are not sufficient to meet the needs of the priority themes proposed by PNPS.Descriptors: health promotion; nursing diagnosis; public health policy. Diagnósticos de Enfermería relacionados con la política nacional de promoción de la salud brasileraObjetivo. Identificar las relaciones entre los diagnósticos de enfermería propuestas por la Taxonomía II de la NANDA-I y los temas prioritarios (TP) de la Política Nacional de Promoción de la Salud (PNPS). Métodos. Revisión integrativa de la literatura en las bases de datos Scopus, CINAHL y SciELO, utilizando los términos: health promotion, foods habits, accidents traffic, abuse drugs, environment and public health. La búsqueda consideró artículos científicos publicados entre 2000 y 2016. Resultados. Se seleccionaron 12 artículos para identificar y explorar las acciones de enfermería relacionados con el TP. The aim of this study was to adapt the "Questionnaires for Knowledge and Compliance with Standard Precaution" to Brazilian Portuguese. This was a methodological study with the following steps: 1) initial translations; 2) synthesis of translations; 3) analysis by a committee of experts; 4) back translation; 5) semantic validation; and 6) pretest. The sample was composed of 42 nurses, 12 of which participated in the semantic validation, and 30 of which participated in the pretest. The study was conducted in a teaching hospital in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The semantic validation showed that the questionnaires are understandable, easy to complete, and appropriate in regard to knowledge and compliance with standard precautions. The pretest confirmed the final version. Therefore, the process of cultural adaptation was shown to be satisfactory, and the questionnaires are adapted to Brazilian Portuguese, and their process of validation should be continued to test the psychometric characteristics. After that, the instruments will be ready for use in Brazil.Descriptors: Universal precautions, nursing, health knowledge, attitudes, practice. In order to compose childcare actions, National Policy for Comprehensive Child Health Care, in its strategic axis II -Breastfeeding and Complementary Healthy Eating -advocates adequate nutrition and access to safe and nutritious food as a child's right to achieve high standards of health. By considering the importance of offering healthy food for growth and development of Brazilian children, scientific evidence about the need to promote beneficial lifestyle habits and the absence of validated national instruments that investigate parents' knowledge about their children's healthy eating, this study had the objective of carrying out the cultural adaptation, in Brazil, of the Infant Feeding Questionnaire (IFQ), for use with parents of children of preschool age. A methodological study was carried out in a medium-sized municipality in the northeast of São Paulo between March and September 2018.To reach the objective, we go through the steps proposed by referential that involved idiomatic standardization of the instrument; expert committee review; retro translation; patient panel; adapted version of the instrument and pilot test. We also performed language standardization in order to maintain understanding of the instrument when culturally adapted in the same language but in different countries. Two Portuguese-speaking professionals evaluated this version and resulting in two versions, which was later synthesized in a single one. The Committee of experts consisted of seven professionals who validated this version with agreement above 80% for 54 of the 55 statements of the IFQ.We accepted the changes because they did not interfere with the IFQ and we obtained the author's approval. Back translation was performed, also with necessary changes to the Brazilian reality and after authorization by the author. For the semantic validation, 30 parents (panel of patients) of children of children enrolled in Child Living Centers (CLC) answered items from the IFQ, which was subdivided into five groups of 11 statements each. Understanding of all items was verified, except for one that is not part of the Brazilian reality; also changed with permission of the author, resulting in the adapted version. Then, we conducted a pilot study with 55 parents from other CLC; they pointed out true or false for all 55 statements in the IFQ.For analysis we used the Kuder-Richardson coefficient (KR20) and a correlation between the items and the total was found with truth for values greater than 0.7. From the semantic validation, we identified percentages above 92% for good compression of the IFQ items. The results of the pilot study indicated values between 0.72 and 0.76 for the 55 questionnaire items. This demonstrated good consistency, which confirms the reliability of the Brazilian version.The culturally adapted version of the IFQ in Brazil is reliable and valid for assessing parent's knowledge of healthy eating in preschool children.
