“…Most patients who sustain distal radius fractures are reported to recover enough range of motion (ROM) and strength to perform daily tasks within 3-6 months (Beharrie, Beredjiklian, and Bozentka, 2004;Hurov, 1997;MacDermid, Richards, and Roth, 2001;MacDermid, Roth, and Richards, 2003;Rozental, Beredjiklian, and Bozentka, 2003;Ruch and Papadonikolakis, 2006;Ruch, Yang, and Smith, 2003;Wolfe, Easterling, and Yoo, 1995;Wright, Horodyski, and Smit, 2005). However, residual disability is not uncommon (Dekkers and Soballe, 2004;Harris, MacDermid, and Roth, 2005). A minority of patients may not regain enough mobility and strength to function well, despite therapeutic efforts such as exercise, manual techniques, and modalities (Baldwin, Duleavy, Norton, and Reuterfors, 1998;Collins, 1993;Shah, Lopez, Escalante, and Green, 2002;Smith, Brou, and Henry, 2004).…”
