Achieving of Flexible, Free‐Standing, Ultracompact Delaminated Titanium Carbide Films for High Volumetric Performance and Heat‐Resistant Symmetric Supercapacitors

Abstract: The volumetric performance of supercapacitors (SCs), besides the gravimetric performance, is attracting an increasing attention due to the fast development of electric vehicles and smart devices. Here, a unique design of symmetric supercapacitor material is reported with a tight face-to-face architecture by applying a high pressure to the delaminated Ti 3 C 2 (d-Ti 3 C 2 ) films. The high pressure makes the d-Ti 3 C 2 films achieve an increased density, high electron conductivity, good wettability, and abundan… Show more

“…The electrochemical performance is displayed in Figure 5a though a comparison of cyclic voltammetry (CV) curves of the four configurations of MXene-based MSCs scanned at a scan rate of 100 mV s −1 . [15,59] In a simplified view, the electrochemical reaction can be represented as follows [58] This ideal capacitive behavior is attributed to the surface electrosorption of electrolyte cations as well as the Faradaic pseudocapacitance of the continuous and reversible redox reactions on the surface of the Ti 3 C 2 T x nanosheets.…”

“…The electrochemical kinetics can be evaluated by the b-value. [29][30][31] = + q q q [28,29] The b-values can be obtained from the slope of particular potentials log(i)-log(v) plot and the results are shown in Figure 5b.…”

“…[30][31][32] The MXenes have already showed their significant applicability in biosensors, [33] electromagnetic wave absorption, [34] supercapacitors, [35,36] Li-ion batteries, [37,38] electronic devices, [39,40] gas sensors, [41] etc., because of their high conductivity, [42] hydrophilic surface, [43] and flexibility. Their general formula is recorded as M n+1 X n T x , where "M" stands for the transition metal element, "X" is C or N or CN, while T x represents the terminal groups of -OH or -F, etc., and n could be 1, 2, or 3.…”
