Absorption‐mode spectra on the dynamically harmonized Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance cell

Abstract: The manuscript demonstrates absorption-mode spectra from Nikolaev's ICR cell, which will be of interest to the community. The improved relative peak intensities and immediate identification of harmonic peaks will facilitate data interpretation.

“…The mass spectrum was phase-corrected using the Autophaser 6.0 phase correction software [25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32]. All onedimensional (1D) spectra were first externally calibrated in the solariXControl software (Bruker Daltonics, Billerica, MA, USA) using Agilent ESI-L Low Concentration Tuning Mix (Agilent Technologies, Stockport, United Kingdom), and then internally calibrated against the theoretical m/z values of the ions generated by cholesterol using the quadratic calibration function within Data Analysis 4.0 (Bruker Daltonik GmbH, Bremen, Germany) [33].…”

“…Automated phase correction for absorption mode mass spectra was achieved with the development of the Autophaser software by Kilgour et al [34][35][36]. Phase correction for absorption mode mass spectrometry is now integral to data processing for FT-ICR MS, for various geometries of ICR cells [35,37]. Phasecorrected absorption-mode data from the dynamically harmonized ICR cell has allowed the highest published FT-ICR MS resolving power (R = 32,000,000 at m/z 400) [37].…”
