“…This is the first time that statistical analyses on large numbers of patients with long follow up clearly demonstrates that prognosis is independent of phenotype. These data confirm previous case reports and small studies showing that a cytotoxic phenotype can be observed in early lesions of MF, and that phenotypic variations have no influence on the prognosis of the disease 1,2,4,5,7–13,25–28 . In addition, we show that detection of a clone by standard PCR procedures in early lesions of MF is not associated with a worse prognosis.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…In contrast to CTCL occurring in HIV-negative patients who are predominantly expressing CD4 [20], all reported case of HIV-related CTCL-like cutaneous infiltration, including those in this work, demonstrate a predominant CD8 cytotoxic phenotype [12,15]. Although CTCL is often associated with a loss of expression of some differentiation antigens of mature T cells, such as CD2, CD5, and CD7 [21], the results of other studies did not show any immunophenotypic aberration in HIV-related CD8 + CTCL-like cutaneous infiltrations. Furthermore, infiltrative CD8 + T cells showed a weak but re- Figure 2.…”

“…In fact, even if few data are available in literature, it is known that the incidence of aberrant phenotypes in CTCL patients is higher in the advanced stages. Van der Putte et al 34 found aberrant phenotypes in 19/40 MF patients, more frequently in the tumour stage and Ralfkiaer et al 5 in 24/62 CTCL patients, the majority of which had aggressive large‐cell lymphomas or Sézary syndrome.…”
