Abstract: Background:Fibrocartilaginous enthesis is composed of different histological zones which are commonly referred to the tendon distal extremity (a lamellar tissue with a low cell density, collagen and connective tissue), the fibrocartilaginous zone (with chondrocytes), a progressively mineralized zone and the bone.
