A Three-Phase Interleaved Floating Output Boost Converter

Abstract: High step-up dc-dc converter is an essential part in several renewable energy systems. In this paper, a new topology of step-up dc-dc converter based on interleaved structure is proposed. The proposed converter uses three energy storing capacitors to achieve a high voltage gain. Besides the high voltage gain feature, the proposed converter also reduces the voltage stress across the semiconductor switches. This helps in using low rating switching devices which can reduce the overall size and cost of the convert… Show more

“…Equation 27is based on non-linear, whereas matrix A(u), B(u) is dependent on the control signal of u(t) ∈ R. The behavior of the proposed converter obtained after the linearization process results in small perturbations around an operating point. Therefore, the nominal steady-state operating condition of the proposed converter can be written by setting (27) as AX + BE = 0 and and is shown in Equations (28)- (34), The voltage across the capacitors are given in Equations (28)-(31),…”

“…Different renewable energy sources such as wind, solar photovoltaic (PV) fuel cell (FC) are commonly used sources, but solar photovoltaic (PV) attracted the intention of research in recent years because of its abundant availability [1,2,3]. The output voltage of photovoltaic and fuel cell system is very low.…”

“…To mitigate the aforesaid disadvantage of conventional boost converter, so far many solutions are proposed and successfully implemented to get the high voltage step up ratio, such as forward or fly back converter is discussed in [5]. The disadvantage of this type of converter is transformers which increase the losses, cost and size [6]. In [7] conventional quadratic boost converter is proposed which use only one switch for voltage conversion ratio, the voltage gain of conventional quadratic boost converter is not much high and they present voltage and current overstress when the conversion ratio is high.…”
