“…The Casson plot (Fung, 1993) [12] showed that blood demonstrates non-Newtonian properties at low shear rates (less than 100 s -1 ), whilst above this threshold shear rate blood exhibits Newtonian properties. These findings were confirmed by Huang and Fabisiak (1978) [6], and Bludszuweit (1995a) [3], who both showed that at higher shear rates blood can be modelled as Newtonian. This assumption of Newtonian behaviour holds for the shear rates found in this simulation.…”
