A Survey of Streptococcal Infection in a Children's Hospital

Abstract

SYNOPSISA retrospective study of streptococcal infection in patients and staff at the Adelaide Children's Hospital and a prospective study of 400 control children showed high infection rates in all groups and in the patients considerable streptococcal disease. The need for diagnostic awareness, follow-up and surveillance programs, cross infection control and continuing research are stressed. Received July 21, 1967. 1. Medical Bacteriologist. 2.
