A survey: issues and challenges in wireless sensor network

Abstract: Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is powerful and economical key to monitoring and tracking problems. WSN is a perfect unification of sensing, computation and communications tasks. WSN nodes are deployed in both hostile and harsh environment. They lend valuable support for continuous, remote monitoring, and for healthcare applications. WSN nodes can be deployed easily in existing structures without any added infrastructure. In this work, an outline of wireless sensor networks, applications, challenges & issues… Show more

“…3) Intelligence: Intelligent systems can also be integrated to the WSN paradigm to equip the sensors with the ability to continuously monitor the patient or perform an event driven surveillance. 4) Transmission power: The transmit power used by the sensors should be very low to prevent interference and radiation [93,92], which could be harmful to a person. However, the power should also be enough to provide power for sensing.…”

“…To meet this requirement, indoor localization systems based on wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have been developed [1][2][3]. The WSNs are a kind of self-organizing network composed of many nodes with wireless transceivers, microprocessors, and sensors [4][5][6]. The received signal strength indication (RSSI) is the easiest to measure by a wireless transceiver, so it is often used to estimate distances and locations between nodes [7][8][9].…”
