“…We are describing herein the first example of the use of epoxides in the synthesis of poly(styrene) and poly(alkyl (meth)acrylate) graft copolymers by radical graft copolymerizations initiated from PGMA and GMA copolymers with MMA and St. While related structures could conceivably be synthesized using less convenient anionic polymerizations and a “grafting onto” approach, , this novel protocol benefits from the much less stringent requirements associated with radical polymerizations and a much broader monomer selection.
