Background and Objectives: Alginate, an anionic polysaccharide distributed widely in the cell walls of brown algae, is used in biomedical applications. However, alginate's performance as a biomaterial, has limited by its several contamination such as endotoxins, proteins and polyphenols. Methods and Results: To overcome this problem, we have developed using modified Korbutt method for alginate purification. After purification, we made alginate films and used for retinal pigment epithelial cell (RPEs) regenera…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
