Learning in the digital age is a pervasive idea that encompasses all aspects of a person's life, including work and leisure. As a result of the development of new teaching and learning tools, an increasing number of students are acquiring knowledge on the Internet- connected to the Internet. Therefore, all citizens must develop digital literacy as a lifelong learning skill. Studies have been conducted on students' digital skills in higher education institutions. In this context, this study aimed to investigate the skills of college students. The participants were students from a university in the Kazan region of Russia who volunteered to participate. Three hundred and eighty students completed the questionnaire online. The scale consists of a total of 25 questions and six dimensions. Since our independent variables are binary values, we applied the Bayesian t-test. We obtained the values of the Bayes factor (BF10) for each dimension and the total scale. In general, students' digital skills are well-developed. However, it was found that creating and using digital information requires fewer skills than in other areas. The hypothesis that there is no difference based on student gender was supported to a higher degree but not to a very high degree. The hypothesis that there is no difference based on students' fields of study was supported to a greater extent, but only to a moderate extent.

Mathematical Error Patterns to Facilitate Solving Math Problems for Junior High School Students

Mathematical understanding is important in problem-solving. This study aimed to find patterns of mathematical understanding errors in solving mathematics problems for junior high school students. The method used in this study is qualitative. Data collection uses triangulation. Interviews were conducted on three subjects during one month at Islamic Junior High School. Data collection techniques are carried out through triangulation, namely test results, interviews, and observations. The intrusion used is a math problem-solving test. This study found patterns of errors in solving mathematical problems in the field of geometry. From the results, it was found that the biggest error pattern was in calculating the area and perimeter of rectangles and parallelograms. Stakeholders can also use the results of this research in education to encourage understanding of geometric concepts in education at the secondary level. This study offers educational authorities policy options regarding the importance of understanding mathematics in general and geometry in particular for students.

Today’s higher education learning environment expects students to have such digital skills as navigating a learning management system, using word processing or presentation software, and searching for online information. The widespread use of digital technology in teaching and learning has necessitated a need for students to be digitally competent in order to perform well in their studies. However, different types of digital competence may be necessary at different stages of the students’ learning journey, and some digital competences may be more essential to students’ academic performance than others. To identify the digital competences that students perceive to be most important for their learning performance, and to determine students’ perception of their level of performance in these digital competences, this study adopted the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens 2.2 (DigComp) to design a survey questionnaire and collect responses from university students. An importance-performance map analysis (IPMA) was conducted to examine the relative importance of each of the five digital competence areas and the 21 digital competences identified in DigComp, as well as how each performs in relation to the others, in predicting student learning performance. Study findings revealed that the problem solving competence area was perceived to be the most important for student learning performance, followed by information and data literacy, and communication and collaboration. The respondents did not perceive the digital content creation and safety competence areas as important for their learning performance. The study findings also found that the respondents differed in their perception of how well they were performing in these competence areas. Using DigComp as a point of departure, this study makes a novel attempt to determine the relative importance of each of the five digital competence areas and 21 digital competences identified in the framework, as well as how each one compares to the others in performance when it comes to predicting how well students will perform in their learning.
